Hot Water Recirculation Systems & Balancing Technology

On February 19th, 2020 Greg Swafford, the Technical Sales Manager for GF Piping Systems will present Hot Water Recirculation Systems & Balancing Technology to the ASPE Denver Chapter.  Mr. Swafford will review hot water recirculation systems, the design considerations that should be taken for the systems, balancing the hot water return branches and systems with the different types of balancing technology including emerging balancing technology.  Heat loss in hot water systems can increase potential health risks, create a negative experience for users and waste water and energy.  Greg will provide recirculation details to help create a balanced and properly flowing hot water and hot water recirculation system.  He will provide information to typical standard balancing valve technology and issues and limitations to recirculation systems and present emerging technology for control and monitoring of the hot water recirculation systems that helps reduce water consumption, improves the user experience, minimize health risks and reduce energy usage.  Are your recirculation systems getting the run around?  Are you unbalanced in your designs?  Come and learn how to insure your hot water and hot water recirculation systems provide hot water to your users!

Greg is a former plumbing designer, project manager, and plumbing department leader at MEP consulting firms for nearly 20 years. As the U.S. Commercial Technical Sales Manager for GF Piping Systems, Greg leads the technical sales team of Piping Systems Specialists. He is responsible for the growth and oversight of the US commercial water market segment through business development, product development, and the creation of technical resources as it relates to GF Piping Systems' commercial water products.  In addition to serving on the board of ASPE Dallas/Ft. Worth and as a committee member for ASHRAE SPC 514 "Minimizing Risk of Disease and Injury Associated with Building Water Systems", Greg frequently shares his design and management experiences as a presenter at various industry organizations, seminars, and conferences.
